Residents Prepare for Spring

The residents at Oakdene Care Home have been getting ready to say goodbye to the Winter and hello to Spring, making a start with our lovely private gardens and patio area.

These outdoor areas are accessible to residents all year round and they have direct access meaning they can enjoy the lawn, astroturf, putting green, pathways, and seating at their leisure. Our residents are encouraged to make use of this space and are often found enjoying the fresh air, socialising with others, and taking a stroll when the weather allows.

We have a fair few keen gardeners amongst us here at Oakdene, and many of them have spent the last couple of weeks preparing the garden for Spring. This included preparing the raised flower beds and planting bulbs. We look forward to seeing them bloom and spending time with each other outside in the coming months.

Also in preparation for Spring, residents have been rearing chicks from eggs, which we currently have 3 of at the moment. This has given residents an enormous sense of responsibility and pride, and they have very much enjoyed the nurturing process.
