Participating in group activities is a great opportunity to meet new people and learn brand new skills. Our Activities Coordinators are passionate about coming up with new and engaging activities, such as our regular Arts & Crafts sessions here at Oakdene Care Home.

There are various craft opportunities for residents to enjoy, ranging from painting and jar decorating to flower arranging and card making. Allowing our residents to be creative has a variety of mental and physical benefits; when combined with the social aspect that these group activities provide, residents are sure to have a good time and end the session feeling accomplished.

Our activities team works tirelessly to create an interesting and dynamic activities programme where all of our amazing residents can feel empowered and ready to take on each day. We think that art therapy, in its many forms, promotes the well-being of elderly individuals. Arts & Crafts FAQs

Every arts & crafts session has a different theme, from crafting paper decorations for a variety of seasons to baking-themed goodies to commemorate a special occasion. Our Activities Coordinators make sure that each session is special and entirely different from the last. Our residents have access to a wide range of tools that may be required during a session, at no extra cost.

Residents have complete control over their work, and what they choose to do with them. They can put it on display in their room or give it as a present to someone they care about. Residents can also showcase their creations throughout the house for everyone to see.

All of the activities that residents partake in will be included in the weekly overall care home price. Also included are art supplies for every project they create while staying at Oakdene Care Home.
