An Afternoon of Wild West Entertainment

As always Oakdene Care Home has had lots of fun this month and one of our highlights has been an afternoon of 'Wild West' entertainment and themed activities for our residents.

We invited some local entertainers into our home who put on a fantastic show and ensured that our residents were getting involved. To help our residents get into the 'Wild West' spirit, everyone dressed up in Cowboy hats and listened to country music.

At Oakdene Care Home, we value our residents and acknowledge what they are interested in. Our home has an 'Activities and Events' committee chaired and run by our residents. Within this committee, they choose what kind of events are held within our home and they are currently working hard and planning our Summer Fete.

By holding regular events and activities within our home, it gives our residents the opportunities to be both physically and mentally stimulated, as well as socialise with each other and ultimately enjoy themselves, all of which are proven to really help their overall mental wellbeing and reduce feelings of loneliness and anxiety.
