Zoo Lab Brings Smiles to Our Residents Once Again

There was a real buzz of excitement throughout the home this week as our Wellbeing Team welcomed back Zoo Lab, one of our most cherished annual visitors.
This much-loved event is always circled on the calendar by residents and their families alike, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. With a selection of fascinating animals and an engaging team of knowledgeable Zoo Lab rangers, the afternoon was full of conversation and joyful moments that brought everyone together.
Residents were delighted to see such a variety of creatures up close, from the slinky and slithery to the fluffy and friendly. What made the day truly special was how the rangers took the time to share interesting facts about each animal. They didn't just tell us where they’re from, they also told us about their individual habits, personalities and the roles they play in their natural environments.
For Ruby and Patrick, the event was a real highlight. They were full of chatter afterwards, eager to share what they’d learned and clearly thrilled by the opportunity to interact with the animals. It’s always lovely to see such genuine excitement, and it was clear that the visit sparked a lot of happy memories and new interests.

Events like this are so much more than entertainment. They provide meaningful stimulation, encourage conversation and create shared experiences that linger well beyond the day itself. They also offer a wonderful opportunity for families to join in, making new memories with loved ones in a relaxed and friendly setting.
At our care home in Wimborne Minster, we’re passionate about creating a varied and enriching programme of activities that truly enhances the lives of our residents. Whether it’s welcoming back familiar faces like Zoo Lab or trying something new, we’re always looking for ways to bring joy and comfort to every day.
