Meet the Team

Helen is our home manager at Oakdene and strives to ensure that we provide a warm and welcoming environment where residents can thrive. She can typically be found having a chat with our residents or giving Remy ideas for our vibrant activities programme! Helen is known for her kind nature and dedication and is committed to making Oakdene a place that residents can call home.

Remy has been working in Oakdene for 3 years now and absolutely loves it. Remy has worked her way up from a carer to Head of department in activities. Remy thoroughly enjoys planning trips for our residents to enjoy and most of all seeing them happy makes her happy.

Ben Dodson. Head Housekeeper. Ben has worked at Oakdene since 2012. Ben is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the home. He is passionate about promoting a culture of good practice within his team of 5 housekeepers. Ben is often found completing word games with residents in the lounges!

Richard joined our team in early 2025 and strives to provide the best support to our residents and to make sure that Oakdene continues to be well-maintained and a wonderful place to live.

Sharon is our receptionist here at Oakdene. She takes pride in getting to know our residents and their loved ones as well as being a familiar, friendly face that you can count on to brighten your day.

Tom is the dedicated gardener at Oakdene Care Home, creating a vibrant, welcoming outdoor space for residents, staff and visitors. Known for his green thumb and friendly nature, Tom takes pride in maintaining the home’s gardens. Tom believes that gardening has a powerful role in supporting well-being, and he often involves residents in light gardening activities, encouraging connection with the outdoors.

Whether he’s planting a new rose bush or simply chatting with a resident during his rounds, Tom’s presence adds life and warmth to the Oakdene community.
